Description
A split-rail fence and gorgeous autumn colors adorn the roadside on a misty autumn day along a section of the Blue Ridge Parkway, in North Carolina, USA. Stretching for 469 miles, the Blue Ridge Parkway is a scenic highway that follows the Blue Ridge, a major mountain chain that is part of the Appalachian Mountains in the eastern United States. The road connects the North Carolina portion of Great Smoky Mountains National Park on its south end with Virginia's Shenandoah National Park to the north. Digital processing techniques were applied to this photograph to provide a painterly effect and an enhanced artistic look.
