Description
With the arrival of Spring each year, Great Blue Herons (Ardea herodias) return to the rookery for nest building in Michigan's Kensington Metropark. And with lots of nests and activity occurring in very close proximity, territorial spats and squabbles among these large birds are not uncommon. A texture and various digital effects were applied to this photo for an enhanced artistic look.
