With the arrival of Spring each year, Great Blue Herons (Ardea herodias) return to the rookery for nest building in Michigan's Kensington Metropark. And with lots of nests and activity occurring in very close proximity, territorial spats and squabbles among these large birds are not uncommon. Welcome to my library of photos on FineArtAmerica and Pixels.com. After six years as a Chicago area transplant living in East Central Michigan, I returned in 2022 to to a new home in the far Northwest Chicago suburbs. I enjoyed my time in Michigan, where I had the opportunity to photograph local wildlife, especially the birds and waterfowl in State Parks and preserves that were near my home. But I’m now also enjoying the opportunity to explore the environs near my new location. Indeed, I see beauty and interesting things to photograph almost everywhere that I go.
