Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, is a resort town about 80 miles northwest of Chicago, and is known, among other things, for its beach, boat cruises and mansions--many built by wealthy Chicagoans during the 1850s through the early 1900s.
Riviera Beach--where paying patrons are welcome but no dogs are allowed--stretches to the right of this entrance gate. The structure to the left of the gate includes boat piers, meeting rooms, ballroom and banquet facilities.

After six years as a Chicago area transplant living in East Central Michigan, I returned in 2022 to to a new home in the far Northwest Chicago suburbs. I enjoyed my time in Michigan, where I had the opportunity to photograph local wildlife, especially the birds and waterfowl in State Parks and preserves that were near my home.
