Artist's Description
Native to Central Africa, Western Lowland Gorillas (Gorilla gorilla gorilla) are the most numerous of all gorilla subspecies, though they are still critically endangered due to loss of habitat, disease and encroachment by humans. This male was photographed at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo. Textures and various digital processing techniques were applied to the image to achieve an enhanced artistic look.

About Wes Iversen
Welcome to my library of photos on FineArtAmerica and Pixels.com. I enjoyed my time in Michigan, where I had the opportunity to photograph local wildlife, especially the birds and waterfowl in State Parks and preserves that were near my home. But I’m now also enjoying the opportunity to explore the environs near my new location. Indeed, I see beauty and interesting things to photograph almost everywhere that I go. You'll find evidence of that here in the variety of the images and photographic styles that I have chosen to present. The bulk of the images in this collection have been taken...

A great deal of profound majesty and nobility comes through this portrait. If he could put in words I suspect this gorilla would say thank you for doing him so much justice.
