Artist's Description
I liked the way the angled afternoon sunlight was illuminating this Mourning Dove (Zenaida macroura)--all puffed up, presumably for warmth--on a January day at Kensington Metropark, near Milford, Michigan. These North American birds are abundant and are year-round residents in most of the lower 48 United States.

About Wes Iversen
Welcome to my library of photos on FineArtAmerica and Pixels.com. After six years as a Chicago area transplant living in East Central Michigan, I returned in 2022 to to a new home in the far Northwest Chicago suburbs. I enjoyed my time in Michigan, where I had the opportunity to photograph local wildlife, especially the birds and waterfowl in State Parks and preserves that were near my home. But I’m now also enjoying the opportunity to explore the environs near my new location. Indeed, I see beauty and interesting things to photograph almost everywhere that I go. You'll find evidence of that here in the variety of the images and photographic styles that I have chosen to present. The bulk of the images in this collection have been taken...

Hi Wes: This is marvelous !! The feather details/clarity & the doves eye, WOW !! are all amazing, in fact the entire view is "tack-sharp", which, of course. is your standard. WE love the blurred background, which illustrates the work of a true "world-class" professional photographer. WE agree with you the dove must have been cold, which made for a wonderful capture. Wonderfully Well Done !! (L/F/Twitter) ("Life Without Art is Lacking" = Bill & Deb Hayes)

Thanks so much, Bill and Deb!
