Artist's Description
The Blue Morpho butterfly, found in Mexico, Central America and northern South America, features brilliant blue color on the top side of its wings. But as you can see here, the underside is totally different The huge eyespots on the wings of this species resemble owl's eyes that are thought to scare away small birds and other insect eaters.

Welcome to my library of photos on FineArtAmerica and Pixels.com. After six years as a Chicago area transplant living in East Central Michigan, I returned in 2022 to to a new home in the far Northwest Chicago suburbs. I enjoyed my time in Michigan, where I had the opportunity to photograph local wildlife, especially the birds and waterfowl in State Parks and preserves that were near my home.
