Artist's Description
With its pretty red plumage, the male Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) is easy to spot, especially during the colder months after the leaves are gone from the trees. These birds do not migrate, and are year-round residents throughout their range, which includes the eastern half of the United States. This bird was photographed on a late autumn day in southeastern Michigan.

About Wes Iversen
Welcome to my library of photos on FineArtAmerica and Pixels.com. After six years as a Chicago area transplant living in East Central Michigan, I returned in 2022 to to a new home in the far Northwest Chicago suburbs. I enjoyed my time in Michigan, where I had the opportunity to photograph local wildlife, especially the birds and waterfowl in State Parks and preserves that were near my home. But I’m now also enjoying the opportunity to explore the environs near my new location. Indeed, I see beauty and interesting things to photograph almost everywhere that I go.
