Handsome in profile, this North American Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) looked particularly striking as it posed for my camera in front of an earth-toned background on a mid-December day in Southeastern Michigan. These birds are year-round residents throughout their range in the Eastern half of the United States and parts of Canada.

About Wes Iversen
Welcome to my library of photos on FineArtAmerica and Pixels.com. After six years as a Chicago area transplant living in East Central Michigan, I returned in 2022 to to a new home in the far Northwest Chicago suburbs. I enjoyed my time in Michigan, where I had the opportunity to photograph local wildlife, especially the birds and waterfowl in State Parks and preserves that were near my home. But Iām now also enjoying the opportunity to explore the environs near my new location. Indeed, I see beauty and interesting things to photograph almost everywhere that I go.
